Community Health Evangelism (CHE)

Community Health Evangelism (CHE) is a Christ-centered approach to community transformation that integrates discipleship, health education, and development. Through CHE, Bridges of Hope South Africa equips local leaders to address both spiritual and physical needs, building sustainable solutions that restore dignity and hope.

Our Approach:

CHE is not just a programme — it’s a lifestyle of wholistic discipleship. Local volunteers, trained as Community Health Evangelists, work within their own communities to share the gospel, promote healthy practices, and encourage economic and social development.

134 people prayed to accept Jesus through CHE outreach.

39 individuals gained employment after prayer and mentoring.

34 participants began the journey of healing through Celebrate Recovery.

Moms’ prayer groups continue to see answers in their families and workplaces.

What CHE Looks Like in Action:

  • Home Visits – Over 20,000 visits conducted across Cape Town communities, bringing prayer, encouragement, and practical health support.
  • Faith & Discipleship – Hundreds have prayed to accept Jesus, with many joining local churches and discipleship groups.
  • Life Transformation – Individuals testify of answered prayer, new jobs, and restored families.
  • Celebrate Recovery & Support Groups – Safe spaces where people confront addiction, find healing, and walk in freedom.
  • Wholistic Health Education – Training in nutrition, hygiene, parenting, and other life skills that empower households.

Why It Matters:

CHE creates self-sustaining cycles of transformation. As people experience spiritual renewal and practical breakthroughs, they become catalysts for change in their families, neighbourhoods, and beyond.
